BGP Litigation associate Denis Durashkin discusses the prospects of the WTO complaint filed by Ukraine against Russian "trade aggression" on the live program Demidovich. Real Economics on television channel RBC

Denis Durashkin said that the WTO dispute proceedings could be protracted, conceivably lasting several years, or might be concluded quickly, in as little as half a year. Formally there are grounds for the complaint – namely the prohibition against unwarranted restriction of the transit of goods by WTO member countries. But formal grounds alone are not enough. For further details about what can be considered unwarranted restriction of trade in the context of the complaint, and about the origin of the prohibition itself, follow the link for a recording of the TV program: "Россия – Украина: спор о транзите товаров".
